The monograph is devoted to the creative and pedagogical work of Vladimir Beklemishev, one of the leading sculptors of the late XIX - early XX century. The involvement of previously unknown archival materials, press publications, memoirs and letters of contemporaries, allowed for the first time to present the sculptor's legacy in all its genre diversity, as well as to make the most complete catalog of works. The book details the work of the sculpture workshop headed by Beklemishev at the Imperial Academy of Arts until 1918. Along with this, the publication includes materials about the creative fates of Vladimir Beklemishev's family members.
The book is addressed to art historians, artists, art critics, teachers, students and graduate students of creative universities and colleges, as well as to a wide range of readers interested in the history of Russian art, in general, and the Imperial Academy of Arts, in particular.
