The book is a study of the genre of the Russian cantata of the beginning of the 20th century, the period of its highest flowering. The central figure is Rachmaninov, who created his peak samples. Rachmaninov's vocal and symphonic works are examined in historical, theoretical, aesthetic and world outlook aspects. Parallels are drawn with works of other genres, as well as with contemporary philosophical trends and poetry.
It is intended for musicians — specialists, students of music universities, as well as everyone interested in the history of native culture.
