This catalog issue is for reference and dedicated to disclosure of unique book collections of the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences, where rare European editions from the Wallen-rodt Koenigsberg Book Collection are stored. This volume includes previously unsystematized materials, representing more than 1400 scientific descriptions of the monuments of European book culture 16-18 centuries (format in the fourth part of the sheet). The catalog also contains information about owner records of the two founders of this book collection — Martin von Wallenrodt and his nephew Ernst von Wallenrodt, whose activities were closely related to the Koenigsberg University.
Researchers may be interested in many of the details of the descriptions, containing information about marginals, bookplates and autographs. Scholars in the field of the German literature glean information on casual German-language editions of the 16-18 centuries. A feature of this catalog is that it gives information about numerous dissertations defended at major German universities, including Koenigsberg. Another advantage of the catalog — the presence of useful and reader-friendly indexes.
